Published, and the same for everybody
Tuition and fees
$475 a week for infants down to $345 for pre-kindergarten, $28 an hour for drop-in, with all meals and the entire curriculum included. Every fee we charge is on this page.
If your child is three or four, read this first. New York City funds free, full-day 3-K and Pre-K for All for every resident child of the right age, with no means test and regardless of immigration status. A family paying us $365 a week for a three-year-old without having applied is very likely spending money the City would have covered. Apply for 3-K first explains who is eligible, when to apply, and the legitimate reasons families still pay us.
Why infant care costs the most
Arithmetic rather than luxury. The Article 47 ratio for infants is one adult to four children; in the twos room it is one to six. That is a fifty per cent difference in how much of a qualified person’s working day each child consumes, and it is the entire spread between $475 and $395.
Which is also why a centre quoting noticeably less than the local range for infant care is worth a direct question. The staffing cost is not avoidable, so something else has to give, and it is worth finding out what.
Why a half day is not half price
Because the place is held all day. Our permit caps the number of children who may be on these premises at any moment, and that cap counts children present rather than enrolled — so a half-day place is not resold in the afternoon to somebody else. Pricing it at fifty per cent would mean either overbooking the room or quietly raising what full-time families pay to cover it.
The same reasoning sets two fixed days at forty-five per cent and three at sixty-five rather than at forty and sixty. It is more than the fraction of the week because the place has to be matched and held.
What we do not charge for
Settling sessions, which run for two weeks before a child starts full days — charging a family to find out whether their child can cope would be a strange way to begin. Meals, snacks and nappy changing. The whole curriculum, including music, which elsewhere is frequently an external provider invoicing you separately. Toilet learning. Allergy and special-diet management. And a place on the waiting list, because a position on a list is not a thing we are able to sell you.
The late fee, explained rather than buried
A dollar a minute from 6:16pm. It is published so that it is not a surprise and not a judgement, and it goes to the two members of staff who stayed rather than to the nursery — those two people have their own children and their own collections. If you are stuck, telephone. A parent who rings at ten past six because the train is held is in a completely different conversation from one who simply arrives at half past.
If your child is three or four, the City may do this for nothing. New York City gives every resident three- and four-year-old a free, full-day place in 3-K or Pre-K for All, regardless of family income or immigration status. For the 2026-2027 year that meant children born in 2023 for 3-K and 2022 for pre-K, with applications open from 14 January to 27 February 2026. We are raising this before we quote you a weekly rate, on the pages where you are most likely to be about to pay us, because a family paying for a four-year-old's daytime hours without having applied is usually spending money the City would have covered. Families still pay us for these ages for good reasons — hours beyond what a free place covers, or not getting one — and neither of those is a reason to leave the question unasked.
Apply for a voucher — and know where the queue currently stands. New York's Child Care Assistance Programme reaches families to 85% of the state median income, and you should apply if there is any chance you qualify. You should also know the position: NYC ACS paused issuing vouchers to income-eligible families not receiving Cash Assistance in May 2025, that pause has held, and the waiting list passed seventeen thousand children in early 2026, growing by around a thousand a month. Families on Cash Assistance still qualify regardless of income and are not on that list. Sending a family away with just apply for a voucher, without that, is a brush-off dressed as advice.
Our permit caps how many children may be here at once. Our permit states the maximum number of children who may be on these premises at any moment the programme is operating, set by the Health Department from the space, the teaching staff and the certificate of occupancy. That number counts children present, not children enrolled — so an hourly child takes up a permitted place in exactly the way a full-time child does. This is the honest reason we cannot always say yes to a drop-in, and the reason to be sceptical of anybody in New York City advertising unlimited same-day availability. It is a legal ceiling, not a scheduling preference.
Tuesday and Thursday mornings, while the children are here
Come and see the room
A tour here happens during a session, in the room your child would actually be in, at the time of day they would be in it. You meet the person who leads that room rather than only the director, and you see the noise and the mess that are genuinely there. It takes an hour. If your child is three or four we will ask whether you have applied for free 3-K or Pre-K for All before we quote you a rate, because a good many families should not be paying us at all.
